My New Adventure!

So I saw these pictures a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with them right away. I then decided to become a teacher and teach how to make them, so if you are interested in making one or want to see one in person then give me a call or e-mail me! They really are very simple to make, I promise! If you want to see more examples then go to poppyseedprojects.com and click on the temple and family pictures. We have 8 different temple pictures to choose from and different sayings and mats for the family to choose from too!

Aliyah!

Happy 4th Birthday to our very sweet Aliyah! All Aliyah wanted for her birthday was pink! Well that was easy, almost every girl toy out there is pink. So for her birthday she got a pink barbie car, pink barbie clothes and another barbie. She got a pink cake with pink suckers that are stars and princess crowns.
This morning when I was doing her hair I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she said, "I want pink and I want my hair to be long." Poor kid, well she will at least get one of the two that she wanted, but I can't help her out with long hair just like that.
Aliyah you are such a sweet hearted child and we are so happy that you are in our family. We love you so very much!!! Happy Birthday Baby!!!!

Nathan's Surgery

Nathan had his 3rd surgery for his ear. We hope this will be his final one and the doctor feels really good that this will be his final one but only time and healing will tell.
We found out the day before that with being at Primaries and the fact that he is 9 years old puts him into the older category and because of that his surgery is scheduled at 2pm. That is such a life time for him because he is supposed to go without food from midnight until who knows when he will feel like eating and for Nathan, he does not miss a meal for anything. He is such my breakfast person so it was pure torture for him.
As we got to the hospital he was getting more and more nervous. He asks if we could go ahead and tell them we changed our minds and that we didn't need the surgery. Poor kid, I felt so bad for him. Once he was back talking to some of the nurses he found out that there might be some ways that while he stayed in the hospital that there possibly could be some things he could do to pass some of his scouts off and that made him really happy. Leave it to Nate to want to pass scouts off during his hospital stay!
After the surgery for some reason this one was a little harder for him to wake up. He got out of surgery around 5pm and would open his eyes for about 30 seconds at the most. It took until a little after 10pm for him to completely wake up and ask for food. Only to find out he wasn't able to hold anything down for almost until lunch time the next day.
We had a scare when the doctor came in and told us we might have to stay one more night and you could see Nathan get a little more down hill and then about 2 hours later the doctor came in and said Nathan could go home and Nathan got such a huge smile on his face and so then we went home!
Once we got home Nathan kept getting better and better. It's amazing at how being home can make you feel SO much better.
He had a tube coming out of his head right next to his ear that helps drain any fluid, we have to change the bottom of the tube every 4 hours and then he had a tube going into his rib cage that is there only for medicine. This tube is attached to a baseball size ball that is full of medicine and it puts medicine automatically into his ribs because they had to cut into his ribs to get out the cartilage for his ear. This ball of medicine he carries around his neck in a bag. I have pictures but most of the pictures are on my phone and I can't find my cord that goes from my phone to my computer so hopefully I will be able to find it and post some pictures of all 3 surgeries.

Nathan

Nathan got his braces today!!! I know being 9 sounds kinda early to be putting braces on your child but instead of straightening his teeth they are only there to fix his bite. He was really scared going there today, he kept asking me questions like: will it hurt, will they put me to sleep, will I ever get to close my mouth again with all that metal, etc. Boy does he look super cute in them!

Monster Hands

Yesterday Aliyah came running into the kitchen and was screaming, "mommy, I burnt my hands!" So I grabbed her and started to look at them and I saw what to look like white burn marks all over her hands but it didn't make since, there is nothing in my house that could have done this so she started to show me how she burnt her hands. She went in my room and on the side of the bed was an open bottle of super glue. She had put super glue all over her hands! I'm just glad she didn't get her fingers glued together! So after she showed me, she looked at her hands and started to cry. She then looked at me with a very sad look on her face and said, "mommy, I have monster hands!"

Lasik

Back in February I got lasik on my eyes and a lot of you have asked how it went and some of you are still waiting for answers. WELL, when I went in for the exam I found out that I was -9.50 in both eyes and for those of you who don't know what that means, it means that I was legally blind without contacts or glasses. I went ahead and got the lasik and because of my prescription I wasn't able to get the normal lasik that everyone usually gets. No, my lasik had to be a whole lot more detailed, which don't worry I won't gross you out on how they did it! So because of it I will heal a whole lot slower. It has been a month and I still am slowly healing. Each day gets a little better but I am still not there. My doctor says the more I rest my eyes the faster I will heal but it could take up to 6 months to see perfect. The good thing is that I'm not in pain at all, it's just my vision is about 20/40 right now which is enough to legally drive, scary I know and yes I'm out there on the road!!!!

Zachary's Baptism

So on Saturday, February 6th my cute, sweet Zachary got Baptized! It was such a great and special day for him. We had a great turn out of family and friends and we want to thank those of you who could share in his special day with him. And Zach we want you to know that we are so proud of you and the choice that you made to be baptized. We love you!

Zach = Cub Scout

Zach has been waiting so patiently to start scouts. He would ask me so many time about scouts and when would he get to start. It was really funny to watch his face the day that I pulled out his brand new uniform and said, "Hey Zach, guess what? Today's the day!" He was so excited and he couldn't wait to tell me everything that happened once he got home.

Brycelynn Turns 2!!!

WOW! My baby turned 2 today! Where did all the time go? I can't believe that 2 years ago today I brought you home from the hospital! I remember the day I found out that I was pregnant with you. We just got off the airplane and as we were headed to the hotel in Minnesota, I turned to your dad and told him that I got sick from the plane ride and now with the car, wow was I sick! So your dad took your brothers swimming once we arrived at the hotel and Aliyah and I went to the store to buy "something" and sure enough I found out about you, then I went to find your daddy still swimming with your brothers and when I told your daddy about you I thought he was going to sink to the bottom of the pool. Brycelynn you have been such a blessing to us and we want you to now how special you are to us. There is never a dull moment with you. You keep us on our toes and you always put a smile on our faces. We want only the best for you! We love you Brycie!!! Happy Birthday to you!

the GUITAR

So Nathan and Zach both got guitars for Christmas this year from Santa. And they both started their very first lessons today. Which Zach asked as he was going in for his lesson, he asked when will he get to start the electric guitar. They have been so excited and they also like to talk about how one day they will go PRO (dreams, you gotta love them)! Hopefully they have more of their dad in them then their mom when it comes to the whole musical instrument thing. And I want to apologize right now to all of my neighbors in advance for they talk about starting their very own garage band, but don't worry yet because it will be YEARS to come (once again more dreams)!

Dance, Dance, Dance

One of Aliyah's presents from Santa was dancing classes. So finally almost 2 weeks after Christmas she finally gets to start. Those were 2 long weeks because all she would talk about was going to dancing almost everyday and if this was the day that she finally gets to start. She is so excited!

This picture she told me that all dancers stand on their toes so she wanted to make sure she stood on her toes for the picture.

On the way to the studio she sang:
Dance, Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance, Dance
and so on...

She was so happy when we got to the studio. She had a smile from ear to ear the whole time!

I decided to finally put my fears away and decided to finally put a chocolate glaze on my cabinets. I did all 4 bathrooms, kitchen and the downstairs kitchenette in about 2 hours. I never realized how easy it is and I can't believe it took me so long and 3 houses later!

Family Pictures 2009

So this year we were a little slow getting our pictures taken. But with everything going on I'm just glad to get them done. We really wanted to get them taken outside but just ended up going to Target. Everyone was in such good moods but for some reason Zach decided to be the teaser that he is and half of the pictures has him pulling faces in them. These are some of the ones that turned out ok.

Izzy

So with going back and forth so many times we decided to go with an older Boxer because I REALLY hate the whole potty training stage and the chewing up everything in sight stage. So we named her Izzy and she is 2 years old.

You Just Gotta Seriously Love Him

So it was just to funny today. I was scrubbing the toilets today, not to mention the BOYS toilet downstairs that hasn't had any cleaning attention for about a week or so. Anyways as I was cleaning it I asked Nathan to run upstairs and grab some more toilet paper to restock their bathroom. Well as he was coming downstairs to bring it to me he was eating a granola bar and as he went to restock the paper he started to hand me a granola bar and told me that I looked like I really needed to have one too. I looked at him as though he just lost his mind, and then I told him how gross my hands are and that your not suppose to eat while scrubbing toilets, gross! Oh I felt so bad, all he was doing was looking out for me. Oh how you just gotta seriously love him, but really what was he thinking!

It's Never Easy

It's never easy to say goodbye, but today we found out that our Heavenly Father has another plan for us. I'm just very thankful for my family, my husband and for my 5 very wonderful, perfect little ones.

So what do you do when ...

So what do you do when you ask your husband to PLEASE put up the Christmas lights and he looks at you like you just spoke to him in a different language. So then he tells the kids, "If I don't have to put up the Christmas lights this year then I'll personally call Santa Clause and tell him that he has to bring you way cool Christmas gifts this year". Well of course all the kids eyes light up and then they beg me not to put up the Christmas lights. No matter what I say to the kids they are so convinced that we are NOT having the Christmas lights up this year. Now what do you think about that? Can you tell Christmas lights are Mikes biggest pet peeves.

Halloween 2009

So Halloween was a little different this year for us. 4 out of 5 of our kids have coughs. So instead of sending them out to get even more sick we decided to stay in and have a Halloween party of our own. We first started off with dinner.

First we had some Mummies:

We then had some Monster Toes:

Mashed Potatoes with Spiders crawling on them, with some Blood Gravy:

And for Dessert, Forked Eyeballs:

And for our drink (that I forgot to take a picture of), we had Swamp Juice.

After dinner we then went downstairs to watch a couple of Halloween movies and we ate all the Halloween candy that our little tummies could hold. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a lot of fun and they didn't even miss the whole Trick or Treating thing.
